Do not Spam !

If you are going to start any online Business, you will need to advertise your business to attract more visitors to your web site. Thus, to promote your business you will need to deliver messages over the Internet. There are mainly 10 most important forms of advertising on the Internet. Since you are going to spend your time and money to promote your site, you must be very careful to adopt any of them.

1. PPC using adwords

It can prove costly if not used intelligently. You can't check fraudulent clicks for some publishers or from some smaller players.

2. Affiliate Marketing.

It can be poorly targeted in general.

3. Banner advertising.

It is cheap and effective mode of advertising. But you can't check fraudulent clicks in most cases.

4. Pay for inclusion in directory.

It can be cheap if the traffic to the directory is high enough to return sufficient visitors.

5. Private advertising on Websites
This is the form that currently is not well presented on the internet.

6. E-mail marketing.

Email Marketing is claimed to be one of the most effective and inexpensive ways to promote your products and services. The problem is that most emails will probably never be read and will just be deleted. Also, Software programs and other methods are being used by many ISP's to block Safe List, opt-in emails. It is better not to promote your websites by this method. New anti-Spam legalization by different countries is being introduced and you may find yourself facing legal action. A Hosting or ISP company will remove websites that use e-mail as Spam. There are strict laws against Spam. Don't assume that "opt-in lists" are safe as they may contain incorrect information that could land you in court.

7. Classifieds Sites

It may be useful but not likely to provide a lot of Traffic.

8. Submission to Search Engines.

Search engines continue to be one of the major forces on the Internet. To get any large amount of traffic from these sites you may need to be listed in the first or second page. But, it is still worth while to submit to such websites because even a lower listing should generate some traffic to your site.

9. Pay-to-surf programs

Some websites pay users or reward users with Traffic to their site for viewing other sites.
It could be a very time consuming method and would not return good results. Users may view the each site but they are not very likely to pay any attention because they are just waiting for the next site to be displayed just to earn credits.

10. Free For All, FFA sites.

Your description and link may only be displayed for only a short time before being rotated off the site as new sites are posted. Real people do not usually visit these sites.

You should understand the meaning of Spam and its consequences.

Spam is an attempt to deliver a message, over the Internet, to someone who would not otherwise choose to receive it. Almost all Spam is commercial advertising. It is based on stealing Internet mailing lists, or searching the Web for addresses. Such information is gathered with automated searches to retrieve e-mail addresses for spamming. Spam is the practice by which companies or individuals promote their business by either using mass e-mail lists or posting advertisements to newsgroups.

Don't try to Spam.

Spam may lead to legal action against the spammer as new cyber laws are being made to make it a punishable act. More over it will lead to debarring of your account or blocking of your id which may spoil your company's reputation.
